When the guest checks in into the hotel, he/she receives a printed unique number at the reception based on his room number. After scanning the QR code and downloading the app the guest enters his unique number on the lockscreen of the app. That way he binds his phone with the reception and establishes a direct connection with the room service thus closing a big gap in communication.
